Fruitfly says Yes, Macs are just as vulnerable

July 31, 2017

There’s a common misperception that Macs are less vulnerable to malware attacks than Windows devices.  The recent discovery of Fruitfly malware, which went undetected for years, emphasizes no one is exempt.

Fruitfly gives an attacker the ability to remotely spy on and control the infected Mac.  It will even send an alert when the user is not active so the attacker can then access the computer and remain stealthy.

Regardless of the Operating System, vulnerability is a reality for all.  Vulnerability within your business can be minimized through the implementation of crucial processes. DTCI does this for its Managed Service Customer.  We discussed these processes in our most recent lunch and learn.  Click here for a recap of the event and please let us know if you have questions.
